2018 Lantern Run Guide (Clickable PDF)

Run a 5K, 10K, or Half-Marathon through a beautifully designed course. Note that we do have a coordinator and course monitor at Soldier Field on November 4 at the Start/Finish area.
A smaller, more private setting. We mail all items directly to you for your group to participate on your own time and pace.


Note that if the event surpasses 100 registrants, we’ll provide a timer for the race.


A coordinator will normally be present at the event unless there were only a handful of sign-ups in your City. In that case, we will try again in the Spring and when there are enough participants, we will bring out a timer and coordinator. So keep your bib!

Important Notice** Chicago – No Sky Lanterns will be permitted at the run. However, you’re welcome to bring the small LED lantern for celebratory purposes after the event!

All items will be mailed directly to your home so NO packet pickup is required!

The run is designed for individuals and small groups to run at their own pace/time. Note that no DJ, or official after-party will be setup.

Run Start Times

Sunset times are listed. We recommend starting at least 2 hours before sunset for half marathon, 1 hour before sunset for 10K, and 1/2 hour before sunset for 5K.
